Join recognized Yahoo! Store experts and authors  Istvan Siposs and Michael Whitaker and fellow Yahoo! Store operators for this popular training seminar and learn how to build and customize a custom Yahoo! Store. Similarly to our previous seminars, we are now offering this course in a hands-on two-day format in a state-of-the-art computer lab. We are confident that the combination of theory and practice will provide attendees with a compelling learning experience.

IMPORTANT: This seminar deals with the advanced features (RTML) of the Yahoo Store Editor. Information covered here does not apply to Yahoo Merchant Solutions sites built on the web hosting platform using store-tags. RTML does not work on Merchant Solutions' web hosting platform, only in the Store Editor.

Some of the benefits of using the store editor and custom templates are but not limited to:
  • Easier maintenance for larger stores
  • Customized Shopping Cart Page
  • Automating store functionality such as cross-selling, breadcrumbs, etc.
  • AGENDA
This intensive two-day seminar will provide you with the information you need to improve the look and feel of your Yahoo Store safely and efficiently. During the seminar you will be modifying and creating your own templates either in your own Yahoo! Store or a test store (if you prefer to work on a test store, you should open one prior to coming to the seminar.)
    • The Advanced Interface

    • Understanding the built-in templates
    • Customizing your store:
    • Adding a graphical order button
    • Adding a quantity box
    • Custom banner (top navigation; leverages your knowledge of HTML and third-party web design programs; FTP)
    • Relative table width (scale the page to the width of the browser)
    • Search box in the navigation bar
    • Putting text below the navigation buttons
    • Search engine considerations (text page titles and other SEO techniques)
    • Adding a third (right) column / bestsellers, cross-sells
    • Breadcrumbs
    • Working with prices ("You save ... %")
    • And more...
    • "Do's and Don't"s of the Y! Store Editor.
Every attendee will work on a PC in a state-of-the-art computer lab and create templates on a live Yahoo! Store.
Every attendee will receive a comprehensive guide that includes all worked examples and topics covered in the seminar.
    Who will benefit?
